Have You Been Thinking About Trying A Detox Diet

Have you been thinking about trying a detox diet?

There’s no question that detoxification is a great way to cleanse your body of harmful toxins.  These toxins build up in the tissues of your muscles and organs over time, and begin to cause any number of unhealthy symptoms.  While you could seek medical attention to address the symptoms, this alone will not eliminate the cause.  The secret is detoxification, and finding the right detox diet that is best suited for you.

The main purpose behind any detox diet is to remove the toxins and chemical deposits from the body’s tissues so that the muscles and organs may return to their optimum performance levels.  Cutting back on things like caffeine (especially coffee), alcohol and sugar is a great place to start.  Increasing the intake of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts can begin to boost your body’s own natural detoxification process.

Typically a detox diet is a short-term regimen.  This structured diet plan is specifically designed to thoroughly cleanse your body and boost your level of energy.  Most detox diet plans involve consuming lots of water.  This is critical as the body will eliminate toxins through bowel movements and urination.  As a result of the diet, digestion and overall body metabolism will be at peak performance and able to absorb nutrients at an optimal level.  This helps prevent the accumulation of unwanted toxins in the future.

Most people start a detox diet as a precaution.  They are taking the initiative and being proactive about their health.  Most people simply eat more and are under more stress than is healthy for them.  This combination allows much of what is ingested to go un-metabolized.  The result is an accumulation of residual chemical particles (toxins) that simply go unprocessed.  This accumulation of toxins is linked to liver dysfunction, kidney disease, hormonal imbalances, and a lack of nutritional absorption.

After completing the detox diet regimen, people generally experience an increase in energy, much clearer skin, strengthened hair and nails, weight loss, improved bowel movements, better circulation, enhanced digestion, and an overall increase in concentration throughout the day.  The results are immediate and conspicuous.

While the benefits are desirable to everyone, a detox diet is not appropriate in certain circumstances.  For example, women who are pregnant should not go through a detoxification plan.  Their baby will have nutritional requirements that simply will not be met.  Even after birth, while nursing, a detox diet will, in essence, deprive the baby of its nutritional needs.  There are other conditions as well, such as people who suffer from anemia, eating disorders, heart disease, have a low immunity level, low blood pressure, cancers, or are severely underweight.  You should always seek the council of a doctor or certified nutritionist to help design a custom detox diet specifically for you.

Lemon Detox Diet: A Recipe For Total Body Health

The Lemon Detox Diet has gained in popularity for several good reasons.

Also known as “Master Cleanse”, the Lemon Detox Diet uses only pure, 100% natural, organic ingredients.  It’s not very expensive either like so many other “miracle” detoxification products on the market these days.  And, because it is a diet, it systemically works its way throughout the entire body.  So rather than focusing on the colon, or the kidneys or the liver, the Lemon Detox Diet focuses on overall, total body health.

The Lemon Detox Diet takes 10 days to complete from start to finish, although in certain circumstances it’s possible to go even longer.  There are 4 primary ingredients which are fresh squeezed lemon juice, water, 100% maple syrup and cayenne pepper.  It’s important not to substitute ingredients as each one provides its own health benefits.

The lemon juice cleanses the liver, colon and intestines naturally by way of citric acid dissolving toxins.  In addition, it aids in the stimulation of bile in the liver, which in turn, helps cleanse the liver tissue.  The maple syrup supplies energy for the body to conduct normal physiological processes, and maintain normal brain function.  Cayenne pepper stimulates metabolism, which helps to increase blood circulation.  The result is the release of toxins from the tissues into the blood stream for expulsion.  And of course, water is well known to be the best way of flushing toxins from the body.

For the 10 day period, no solid food is consumed.  This causes energy normally used for digestion of the solids to be re-distributed and used for detoxification.  These 4 ingredients are readily absorbed into the bloodstream, which dramatically reduces the energy demand for digestion.

For the beginner who has never tried the Lemon Detox Diet, they may wish to try 5-7 days or so.  This shorter time period is also recommended when the dieter is overweight, hypoglycemic, has low blood pressure or just plain “frail” to begin with.  For someone who is experienced with the Lemon Detox Diet or under a physician’s care, they may wish to try it longer than 10 days.  Once the Lemon Detox Diet is complete, even if only for a few days, be sure to introduce solid foods slowly back into the system for the first 4 days.

As a result of the Lemon Detox Diet you may expect noticeable weight loss, improved digestion, an increase in energy, glowing skin tone with a clearer complexion and stronger nails and hair.  The Lemon Detox Diet benefits are not limited to one facet, but rather provide total body health.
